<sigh> ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Good going Grog. You've awakened an ancient evil that hasn't haunted these parts in over a year. We can only hope that her visit is short lived.

Okay...
here are the results for fridays first ever Rough Draft Tournement on 6/24/05
start time 8:00pm finished 12:30am
buyin 20.00 (1 rebuy until 3rd level of blind raisin) starting chips (1000.00) blinds start at 10.00 / 20.00 raised every 15 minutes
we split up into 2 tables of 5 and 6 combined tables when there were 8 or 9 people left...
Calef had first rebuy Dwayne had second rebuy
at begining of 4 level of blind raisin Bari was the short stack with something like 300.00
the end results went as follows...
11. Rick Sevey 10. Kevin Kelly 09. Ernie Keen 08. Rick Moore 07. Scott Vanzo 06. Eric Whited 05. Calef Brown 04. Jeff Mertz 03. Dwayne Hill 02. Rahul Bhushan 01. Bari Kumar
total prize pool 260.00 1st place Bari Kumar 50% at 130.00 2nd place Rahul Bhushan 30% at 78.00 3rd place Dwayne Hill 20% at 52.00
overall...tournment went very well for the first one we ever held...no big problems...the side game for us early losers was a nice touch and I enjoyed it thoroughly...
biggest suck out had to go to Rahul when Rich went all in and Scott Went all in...then Rahul decides to cold call...and what does Rahul turn over? 6 2 of diamonds... then goes to catch a gutshot straight on the river. by the way. Scott had Ace jack os and think Rich had king queen os... Rahul response was classic... "you guys better have the cards if your going to go all in!" yeah Rahul, dont know what they were doing in the hand....
best music had to go to Jesus's suck my titty mix...
there you go...

quote of the night: "dont touch Scott's enormous nuts!"

Here it is folks...the action on July 8 2005
for a time it looked like no game...thursday afternoon only 3 people had signed up...but by friday morning that number was at eight...
THE PLAYERS: Eric "Chili-Size" Whited Scott Vanzo Jeff Mertz Rahul Bhushan Calef Brown Gabe Calderon (aka "Garcia") after a long absence Robin Moore Rich Moore Bari Kumar
Brief Observer: Dwayne Hill
START TIME: 8:20 pm
1st Dealer: Rahul Bhushan 1st Pot: Jeff Mertz starting blinds: .50/1:00 10:00pm: raised blinds to 1.00/2.00 11:30pm: went Pre-Bari (blinds back down to .50/1.00) 12:00am: raised blinds back to 1.00/2.00 12:30am: went no limit on last hand
MUSIC: Erics Poker mix The Gospel According to Jesus (Jesus H. Christ mix) Scientifically Proven vol 3 (another mix) Rebirth of cool vol 3
BIG WINNER OF THE NIGHT:
............Eric "CHILI-SIZE" Whited..........(GOT VERY VERY LUCKY)
MOST MEMORABLE HAND:
had to be the heads up between Jeff M. and Scott V. after the blinds had gone up...
Scott Raised before flop and Rahul and Jeff Called...the flop...think it was 10 Q 10....Jeff lead out with a bet, Scott called, Rahul called...turn...which was like a 6 or something...Jeff Bet, Scott and Rahul called again...river was a King...Jeff bet again and Scott called, Rahul folded...then every one said turn them over...then Scott said something to the effect of he forgot that the blinds went up..and that he thought he was raising Jeff...Jeff then replied that Scott could raise him if he wanted to...(now here is where it gets interesting...Scott looks at the board and decides to do just that and since Jeff was okay with it...every one let the play continue...Jeff then proceeded to call...
Scott turned over Ace Jack giving him an Ace high straight.... but Jeff turned over King King giving him the boat....DOH!
there is a moral to this tale....but it would be mean to point it out...

Interesting action on friday...here is how it went down...
Date: July 15 2005
Start Time: 8:15 pm Finish Time: 11:30 pm (kinda early for us, Scott was actually still in the building)
Buy In: $40.00 Blinds: .50/$1.00 (raised to 1.00/2.00 around 10:00pm) no limit on last few hands (approx 10:45pm)
Players: Calef Brown (1st Dealer) Jeff Mertz Barry Kumar (1st Pot) Rich Moore Ernie "Grog" Keen Eric "Chili Size" Whited Rahul Bhushan Scott Vanzo
MIA: Albert Calleros (he did have a very good excuse though)
Music: Rodger Lodge's Guide to Poke Her Nite (best mix) weenustail Mix: Martini Madness Soul hits of the 70's Chili's poker mix
Interesting Hands:
NOTE: not one single family pot the entire night.
Magic Number: apparently 7 was the magic number for the night...if you had it you should've played it...kept coming up on the board.
Best hand that saw no action: Rich got quad 2's on flop but nobody was interested in playing...actually the lone king on the flop scared me out, but as soon as Rich put in a dollar bet every one ran away from the hand like it was radioactive. he was severely put out.
Biggest Pot: Had to be the pot I won after the Blinds were raised...got pocket 8's and was first to act so figured I would put pressure and raised the big blind...Think Calef called then Bari raised then it got to Ernied who raised Bari's raise...got back to me so I capped it trying to represent a premium pair. Calef, Bari and Ernie called. (Ernie wanted to raise it again so I put him on Kings or Aces) flop came down all low cards 9 6 2 mixed suites i think. Ernie bet I raised Calef folded Bari called Ernie called...the turn tripped me up by giving me a 8...knew no one would put me on pocket 8's so...Ernie checked and I bet...Bari called then Ernie called...the river put an Ace out which kinda scared me...but lead out with a bet anyway since Ernie checked Bari raised me and Ernie just called...I then put Ernie on Kings and thought Bari had a pair of Aces or possibly 2 pair...so I raised him back and He just called and Ernie called...I then turned over the the tripps and took down an $80.00 pot....SWEET!
Best Hand of the Night (or since we have been playing poker):
This was just as we went to nolimit, Jeff was short around $6.00 so I knew he was going to go all in nomatter what he had...I called big blind with King Jack, Scott and Calef folded,Jeff went all in for $6.00, Bari called Rich called flop came down 10 h, 5 h, 7 sp. checked thru turn which was 8 sp. checked thru again and a J sp on river. (had a pair but was checked to me so I checked it thru thinking I probably won the hand) turned over my hand feeling confidant...but then what did Jeff turn over... 9 and 10 of sp making a 7, 8, 9, 10, j sp straight flush...Jeff took down a nice pot...he wished he hadn't been so short stacked though.
Big Winner of the Night:
Chili Size: got some "Super DELUXE" cards and a few big pots...

here is the game update for Friday July 29 2005:
buy in: 40.00 start time: 8:15 pm game: limit texas holdem blinds: .50/1.00 went to no limit: 9:45 pm 1st dealer(limit holdem): Rich Moore 1st Pot(limit holdem): Dave Lee 1st dealer(no limit holdem): Rich Moore 1st Pot(no limit holdem): Dave Lee end time: 1:00 am
players: seat 1: Ray Claffey seat 2: Ernie Keen seat 3: Albert Calleros seat 4: Gregg Vanzo seat 5: Rahul Brushan seat 6: Bari Kumar seat 7: Eric "Chili" Whited seat 8: Dave Lee seat 9: Rich Moore
music: The Teaches of Peaches - Peaches Wonderful Nonsense - Fun Songs of the Roaring Twenties
lucky number of the night: 2 (the 2's were very good to the board)
Biggest Suckout: Had to be me "Chili". Went in with ace ten...caught a ten...Rich put me all in...he had kings...picked up an ace on river....then proceeded to dance...
Biggest Pot: Rich Moore. Bari went all in Rich and Albert called...flop came...Rich went all in...Albert called...Rich turned over a pair of tens...flop tripped him...Albert had queens but they didn't improve...Bari had King Queen... pot size 155.00
Poorest Sportsmanship: Also had to be me "Chili" ...Rich got Bari to go all in and called...the turn had given Rich the boat with his J 6 and a board of J J Q 6 Bari had J 9....I was dealing...gave Bari the Queen on the river resulting in a split pot...then I proceeded to celebrate a little too much at Rich's expense. ( the dancing was uncalled for )
The What Where You Doing in the Hand: Had to go to Dave Lee...Gregg was first to act...Raised the bet to 5.00 (big blind was still 1.00) Bari Called Dave Called...flop came down 2 8 6 (dont remember the suites) Dave checks Gregg moves all in Bari Calls...Dave calles...Gregg turns over Kings, Bari turns over Aces, and Dave turns over 8 6 off suite...the board never paired or showed a king or ace so the 2 pair was good for a win...PRICELESS
Biggest Winner: Dave Lee of course....
outside of that hand above...he was playing very solid...and can't fault him anyway...Bari should have raised before the flop with the aces...
