Well, it's official. Fox has ordered more episodes of Family Guy, or for those who like to annoy Seth MacFarlane call it, "The Family Guy". Not sure how I feel about this one. Granted, the show had its moments and was funny in its day, but how well will it translate to the world of today in 2004? Tough call.

It's an ok show. It was something to watch when nothing better is on.

It's funny when you watch it after watching something really sad. I have a question, though. Family Guy was animated by Rough Draft Korea, right? So would you say that it's just as nicely done as Futurama?

I have a question, though. Family Guy was animated by Rough Draft Korea, right? I'm not sure about that, Cochino. You should check with RDK liason Hyejoon "Mystery Box Hater" Yun.

I would ask her, but I'm afraid that she would just dump me out of her office like so much trash.

I'm not a fan of Family Guy but wasn't it designed by the same guys who did "The Critic"?

The guys who did the critic developed all that Klasky-Csupo stuff, didn't they? Or did they do Dr. Katz?

I'm not sure but I'm almost positive that the head designer of The Critic was also the lead Simpsons Director Kent Butterworth. Didn't he also animate all of the Tracy Ullman shorts? If Rough Draft can afford it they should try and get him to supervise the animation department. Wouldn't that be great? KENT! KENT! KENT! KENT! KENT! KENT! KENT! KENT KENT! KENT!

Okay, let's get our animation history right...
Yes, Kent Butterworth did supervise the animation on seasons 1-7 of The Simpsons, but I believe it was Milt Gray who animated those Tracy Ullman shorts with fellow animator Mike Kazalah. Kazalah left Klasky in '93 to supervise The Critic at Film Roman, however Chris Sanders (pre-Lilo and Stitch) designed the characters - and it's been rumored that Brad Bird took a pass at them at one point. As for Family Guy, that was animator/song writer Eric Stefani (NoDoubt) who designed it. Yes Jetboy, I agree. Getting Kent Butterworth into RDS would be quite the coup!

Thanks Rikki Rakko for clearing that up for me. But....... I've been on the internet for about 6 hours and I couldn't find a Mike Kazalah, you might want to do a little research yourself. As far as the Simpsons shorts go the name that kept popping up was Mark Ratner. I think he's also the guy who was helping Brad Bird perfect his design skills up at Pixar (They should have just made him Art Director). Boy the animation world is complex.

What makes the Family Guy so popular? People seem to really like the talking baby, Jetboy. Also, the talking dog.

Kinda like "Look Who's Talking" meets "Mr. Ed" except Ed was a horse of coarse.

What kind of skills/schooling do you need to be an art director on Family Guy.

Jetboy, there's no school that can teach you such a skill. You're either born with it or not...kind of like sickle cell.

Is Family Guy as funny as my show, The Jeffersons? We had an interracial couple. Now that's humour! Anyway, Black is best.

Hey Weezy,
What was funny about your show was that it was so unbelieveable that a fine-ass b-i-t-c-h like yourself would be married to that bald-headed fool, George. That's what's funny!

I've heard that in addition to the talking baby and dog, the new Family Guy episodes will have a talking goat, a talking hamburger, and a singing homeless man that will be the butt of an on-going joke. Man, that sounds saaa-weet!
