I thought there should be a thread for The Simpsons as well as Futurama. I'll think of a question later.

Hello Staff, First, congratulations for another year of the greatest show on TV. I started watching the show when I was 5 and now I'm 20, so you could say I grew up with the show. This is my first time on this MB and I was wondering that since the Simpsons has been on the air for so long how come the style of the other people in Springfield is always changing? There doesn't seem to be any consistancy and it appears to change every couple of years. I'm not trying to be rude I'm just curious.

Welcome to the RDS Message Board, PlasticGirl! First off, let me just say that I'm a HUGE fan of your comic book adventures. Keep fightin' the good fight! Now in answer to your very rude question, the lack of consistancy in the secondary character designs rests solely on the rickety shoulders of Film Roman Inc. -- not the artists mind you, but the "suits" who feel it's their "job" to get in there and tinker with the great work of the animation staff. Producing a show like the Simpsons in a herculean effort, but these armchair "creatives" have turned it into a task that Hercules himself (the real one -- not the Disney version) could not accomplish.

If i sent you a picture of myself and was very nice to you, would you add me in a crowd scene in a future episode?

FuturamaFanatic, Speaking for myself I'd have too say no, not that I wouldn't like to but see in the past Fox had a problem with one of the artist, we'll just call him Sarge to keep his identity a secret. So, Sarge was dealing with Fans via the internet and revealing the upcomming episodes and such, to make a long story short he was let go. Try posting this question again towards the end of the 19th season (that's in 4 years.....sorry) and if the show seems as if it will be cancelled then....who knows?

I saw a great Simpsons rerun the other day, I think it was called "the way we weren't" about Marge and Homer's first kiss at summer camp. It had some beautiful animation in it. The more I watch these shows the more I notice cool stuff.
Do you guys really do the animation for the Simpsons? If so, you have my admiration! You know, the show gets plenty of deserved praise for lots of reasons, but I don't hear a lot about the art behind it, like, I dont know, the cinematography, the lighting, the colors, the way a figure might be in silhouette or back lit. I dont know what the correct terms are, but, does that make any sense?
What other shows/projects does RDS work on ?

do you know Mike Reiss, and do you think it is worth 5$ to go hear him speak?

Know him? We're practically brothers! He's worth every cent of that $5, syracuse! After the lecture, you must go up to him and say, "Mr. Reiss, King Heroin says 'Well, hello loser!'" Trust me, he'll get it.

Hey folks, long time lurker, first time poster... Listen, I read and reread all the threads on this board - I'm not sure why, because most of them don't make any sense (the one about Carson's pants is downright cryptic) and/or just aren't funny. One thing I've noticed is that member jane asks lots of questions and no one ever answers her. Is this another one of your failed running jokes or are you guys, as guest mo put it in the "Futurama's Unsung Heroes" thread, just a bunch of lazy infantile morons? I love Chef Onyx, btw.
